Privacy Policy
Good Browser Games is built to run on as little personal data as possible. You can browse and play without an account. We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. This policy covers everyone, wherever you are, including the EU and UK.
What we collect
- A random, anonymous identifier stored in your browser's local storage so we can de-duplicate usage events. It is not tied to your name or account.
- Basic request data your browser sends: IP address, user agent, referrer, and which pages and games you view or play. We use it for analytics, ranking, security, and abuse prevention.
- If you submit a game or sign in: your email address and the details you provide. Sign-in uses a one-time link, so we don't store passwords.
How we use it
Only to operate, rank, secure, and improve the catalog, respond to submissions, send sign-in links, and meet legal obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis (EU/UK), we rely on our legitimate interests in running a safe, useful service, on performing our agreement with you when you submit a game, on your consent where asked, and on compliance with the law.
Cookies and storage
We use essential browser local storage and cookies for the anonymous analytics identifier and sign-in sessions. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking. You can clear this storage from your browser at any time.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of vendors to host the site, deliver email, and monitor errors. They process data only on our instructions and only as needed to provide their service.
Third-party games
Some games run in a sandboxed frame embedded from the developer; others open on the developer's own site when you press Play. Either way, once you start playing, the developer's own privacy practices apply, and we are not responsible for them.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or aggregate it. Anonymous usage events are retained in aggregate form.
Children
Good Browser Games is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to or restrict our use of it, by emailing hello@goodbrowsergames.com. We honor these requests as required by applicable law, including the GDPR/UK GDPR and US state privacy laws. EU/UK users may also complain to their local data protection authority. Note that most browsing data is anonymous and may not be linkable to you.
International transfers & security
We operate from the United States, so your data may be processed there and in other countries with appropriate safeguards. We use reasonable measures to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the date below, and continued use means you accept the update.
